Singapore

Did I mention that I've finally been to Singapore? First time in my life! Alright I better not sound so jakun already. Hee oh and by the way, it was Pei Ji's first time there too :) The pictures are from bottoms up this time as I'm very lazy to arrange them. I felt the need to blog this down as I'm afraid I might forget about certain things that happened in the past. I really wanted to jot down the bus stops and Mrt stations we took to certain places but I don't think I have the time to do that. So it's just gonna be some photos and less talking! OK so scroll all the way down peeps! :)

On the 3rd day we went to the Science Museum and did some shopping at Orchard road so not much photos were taken. And guess what? When we were on our way back to the hotel, I checked my mobile phone and found out that our flight was delayed till 9pm! So we headed back to town for more shopping. And we almost missed out flight!! We ran like we never did before and when we finally reached the boarding gate, the plane wasn't even there yet!! Haha but overall it was an awesome and tiring trip! But most important was I went there with Pei Ji and we had the time of our life together :)

Universal studios! This is my 3rd trip to Universal studios, first in LA, second in Japan and now Singapore! I prefer it more than Disneyland somehow :))

We then took a bus to the night safari.

The interior of the restaurant and we really enjoyed the scenic view of Sg from high above. It is highly recommended to try at least once just for the experience :)

Pei Ji suggested that we should have hi-tea at this restaurant which is located at the 70th floor if I'm not mistaken.

And we still didn't manage to find our hotel so we decided to stop and have lunch first! MOS Burger! Yummy~

After lunch with some help from the personnel from the information centre who finally gave us the correct directions, we made it to the hotel. We checked in and washed up and headed straight to the city again.

We took Jetstar and the airfare was reasonably cheap I would say. It departs from KLIA and arrives at Changi Airport, not bad for a budget airline eh? We reached Sg at about 11am and headed towards the city by MRT. I just love their transportation system!

We were getting ourselves hyped-up for the 3 days 2 nights trip to Singapore. Pei Ji just came back from Nepal not long ago so I got no idea how she has the energy to go for another trip!

A new chapter of my life

This is my first post of a new beginning I would say. I stopped blogging for a few months and I decided that blogging is actually a good way to release my emotions and thoughts. So many things had happened within these few months. I can't continue feeling this way anymore, so I guess by releasing it all out here I would feel better, even a bit would do. No one would imagine the transition I'm going through now and I couldn't believe it myself either. Everything seems to be happening so fast, in terms of studies and relationship. Even Nikki got a new makeover! Almost unrecognisable but still lovable :) Ever since I made that decision, I should be prepared to face some obstacles. There is no such thing as perfect in life and I'm sure I will be able to get through it. So, welcome back bloggie! I miss you very much!

Downtown

Ok I look weird here coz I couldn't open my eyes fully, the sun was too glaring

I hardly go downtown unless I'm really free or I'm sick of PJ. We ( Deary and I ) took the LRT to Pasar Seni and went to this famous beef noodle shop for lunch. This is the 2nd time I've been there, the first time I had the dried noodles with beef balls. I didn't like the beef balls so I decided to try the soup noodles with beef instead. To me the beef balls taste like human meat. Then deary asked me " You tried human meat before meh?". I was like "Errr no, but somehow I keep thinking it's human meat" Oh gosh!

We then went to KLCC and walked over to Pavillion for a movie. Despicable me :)

Maybe because it was a weekday so there were not many ppl.

And guess what? It was raining already when our movie ended. So we were stuck in Pavillion and couldn't walk back to KLCC!! Later that night I went for yum cha session at Williams with CIG. Was super tired after everything ended.

Welcome back!

It's been a very long time since I last visited my own blog. At times I almost forgotten about its existence. I've decided to drop by since I'm on holidays now. For the past few months I've been so busy studying and preparing for my exam till I can't even remember what I did during that period. All I remember was right after CNY it was intensive studying till summatives and after that another round of intensive studying for the next summative. Then came the study break which was in June. The entire month of June was all about preparing for the final exam in July. Surprisingly, I didn't feel as depressed as I used to last year. I guess I finally learn how to handle my stress and workload. Anyways, so glad that everything is over, at least for now.

And so welcome back to my blog!

Nothing beats a vacation after such a stressful semester! I went to Hong Kong with my mum the week after exams. It was our first time taking AirAsia and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I wouldn't mind short flights but any longer would be a bit torturing. We arrived at HK at around 11am on Monday. Took a bus from the airport directly to the hotel. It wasn't the hotel shuttle but just the normal bus. Oh and the transportation there is AWESOME! Buses and taxis everywhere! MTRs to all the major districts! This is one thing I would dearly miss about HK.

We stayed at Eaton Hotel throughout our visit there. It is located on Nathan Road, which is a very very convenient place if you wanna move around town by yourself. The room is considered spacious as most hotels in HK are relatively small. There's a McD right opposite the hotel and so we had lunch there after checking-in. I love their Grilled Chicken Burger and Pork Burger (:

After settling down and taking a nap, we took the MRT to Tsim Sha Tsui and had dinner at one of the mini restaurant there. There were shops everywhere!! Oh and one thing which annoys me the most. There's a jewellery shop called Chow Tai Fook at every corner of each street!! And I mean EVERY CORNER OF EACH STREET. OMG I can't escape the sight of that shop! There's a branch in The Gardens by the way.

We then walked to the Avenue of Stars, the HK version of the Hollywood one. I had a similiar picture like that taken in Las Vegas when I was 3. It was with Bruce Lee's star.

I took the ones I knew. I didn't bother taking the oldies. HEHE

There were ppl jogging and dating at the avenue. I guess it's also a popular hang out area for the locals.

Where I'm standing is actually Kowloon and the buildings in the photo is in Hong Kong island. Oh and by the way, the weather there now is EXTREMELY HOT and HUMID! It is even hotter than Malaysia.

Hong Kong Day 2

We took the MTR to Admiralty station in Hong Kong island, then took a bus up to The Peak instead of taking the tram. Oh by the way, it is very advisable to get the Octopus Card. It is like our Touch 'n' Go card. Save the trouble of having to get exact change everytime you take the bus or to purchase train tickets. One more thing, the locals there walk REALLY fast! It's as if they are always in a rush. Even the escalators at the MTR stations are faster than usual!

At the peak, nothing much actually. Oh you can purchase Disneyland entrance tickets here too. We then headed to Causeway Bay and had lunch at Bistro Delifrance@Times Square. As usual, there were shops everywhere!!

Toy Story!! My favourite cartoon ever! Now I know how a toy would feel, tiny :)
It was in conjunction with the Toy Story 3 premier. You'd be surprised, most of the ppl who lined up to have their photos taken with the cartoon characters were adults.

It is a pricey but yummy desert shop which is famous for its mango desert. I'm not a mango fan since young but I really liked it. The one on the left is the mango desert while the one on the right is carrot cake in XO.

After spending some time shopping, we went to Ladies Street in Mong Kok. If you are wondering how did we managed to find our way around so many places, I'm telling you, it is very easy. Not kidding. Ok so about Ladies Market, it is basically like Petaling Street. Lots of imitations and bargainings to do. I personally don't like it very much.

Hong Kong Day 3

Off to Macau we go!!

The China ferry terminal is relatively near by vechicle from our hotel but me being so "adventurous" wanted to walk there instead. But halfway there we decided to take the bus and luckily we did because it would have taken us some time to reach there. The ferry we took coincidently is owned by Chow Tai Fook. Him again. Can't seem to run away from that person.

The journey was about an hour and a half. Tip: Never sit on the upper deck especially if you are seasick.

First thing to do when you reached is to grab a map of Macau. There's a free shuttle bus service from the ferry terminal to the Venetian. It is not in Macau itself but in Taipa. Averagely every 1 min you would see at least 10 Venetian shuttle buses on the roads. The reason why you won't feel that you are in China is because there are casinos and portugese words everywhere!

Basically, they designed the entire place like Venice. The photo above is taken at the foodcourt. The sky's fake by the way. There are plenty of food choice, ranging from Portugese to Japanese to Vietnamese! I had Western :) Delicious!!


Looks like the one in Genting Highlands eh? Just on a larger scale. More shops, prettier and a bit fake. After lunch we left the Venetian and took the bus to Largo Do Senado to experience some Portugese architecture.

More shops again! This is where you could get the Portugese egg tarts, barbeque meat and biscuits. You could try all you like, they are more than happy if you did :)

It was VERY hot. Needed to have my ice cream to battle the unbearable heat.

Fortaleza Do Monte & Museu de Macau

Here's the thing, the signboard said turn left to museum and turn right to fortress. We thought we saw an escalator up to the fortress but couldn't find it so we climbed up instead. The museum on the other hand is located next to the fortress, which could be accessed using an escalator! So the escalator do exist! At least we found out about that later on and need not walk all the way down.
Nothing much at the fortress, just some canons. Similar to the one in Malacca. Well, both were conquered by Portugese right? LOL We didn't enter the museum, just took some pics that's all.

After that, we left the square and went for dinner at a restaurant called A Lorcha which is located right next to A-Ma Temple. There's a bus that stops right in front of that restaurant, just so happen that the bus stop is there, not because there's a shuttle bus. LOL It wasn't open for business yet when we got there so we made reservations and chilled out at the park right outside the temple. It is advisable to make reservations as it is a very popular authentic Portugese restaurant. Very pricey but an eye-opener to real Portugese food.

No photos taken of the park but this is the Maritime Museum which is at the park. That's A-Ma Temple on the bottom left picture. By the way, A-Ma Temple is the last bus stop before the bus terminal.

The restaurant is at the corner end of the shophouse. We ordered just a seafood soup and seafood rice as Mummy had no appetite that day so we couldn't order more. They are also famous for their African chicken and clams in olive oil. Overall Macau was fun! Less cars and feels more peaceful compared to HK.

Hong Kong Day 4

Disneyland

Okay so this is my 3rd trip to Disneyland. First in Los Angeles, then Tokyo and now Hong Kong! I personally prefer the other 2 compared to this one as the park is really really small. Not joking. Oh and also the staffs there are NOT friendly at all. Ain't Disneyland supposed to be a joyful place? Hmmm what's missing from this theme park is the ToonTown, Critter Country, New Orleans Square and Frontierland. See how many lands they are missing?



We took the MTR to Disneyland. The Disney train was decorated entirely with Disney stuffs. I felt like a small kid once again and forgotten about reality just for that day. The funny thing was, when we were in Tokyo, it was so cold that we took every chance we had to stay in a warm place, but in Hong Kong, it was so so hot that we took every opportunity to stay in a air-conditioned place! LOL

There was a parade going on just as we reached there. It was summer time so they had some sort of summer parade. Although I look smiley and happy but in actual fact my skin was burning! Still had to smile for the camera! Heeee

Day 5 was shopping day till our flight at night. I guess that's all about my trip! =) Almost a week had gone by since I came back from HK. Scary how time flies eh?
